Poster Ideas, Sketches

These are a few things I've drawn when thinking about potential artwork. As I've had a lot of trouble getting hold of my band for a photoshoot art is my only option left. I might use the coloured lips idea as this will be iconography throughout my poster and digipak, but here are the ideas I've produced:



I like the colours here as most of them all fit in with the red white and blue theme of my entire video, digipak etc. For this reason the flag works really well too. However as it's quite complex it could be difficult to go over on paint and wouldn't stand out as well as other ideas on a poster.




I don't like this one much at all. The colours are dull, the picture isn't that clear or defined, and the band's name is nearly invisible. I wouldn't use this one on a poster.

This is another poster that relates to pub culture. It has iconography of the band - the flag, the bottle, the beer on the table - and is colourful enough that it would get noticed and recognised immediately in a magazine. However it might be difficult to fit additional info about the album onto the poster in the same style.



This one again revolves around British pub culture, fitting in with the entire video and digipak. The black and white means this wouldn't stand out well in a magazine but I like this idea the most as it looks interesting and reflects the band well. It also has the kind of style of a 'wanted' poster.
